Ardis Hock Yearsley
November 15, 1927 ~ March 9, 2014
Our loving Mother and Grandmother, Ardis Hock Yearsley, left this mortal realm on March 9, 2014, at the age of 86. She has returned to her Heavenly Father and the loving arms of her husband, Harold V. Yearsley.
Ardis was born on November 15, 1927 to Alma and Cecil Hock and grew up in North Ogden, Utah. Ardis married Harold Vernal Yearsley on April 10, 1947. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. She is the mother of Kathleen Yearsley, Kurtis H. (Martha) Yearsley, Lorna (Les) Bitton and Deonn (Yearsley) Earl.
Ardis was employed in the grocery business for many years. She and Harold were also campground hosts for 17 years at the Flat Rock Campground, Island Park, Idaho.
Ardis lived most of her life in Ogden, UT; 7 years in Mesquite, NV; and the last 4 years in Columbus, Ohio. An outgoing person, she made lifelong friends wherever she lived.
Harold and Ardis enjoyed many years of travel together. She was an avid reader, painter and quilt maker. Ardis was very service oriented and made hundreds of fleece blankets which were donated to women's shelters, local children's hospitals and various charities. She also "rescued" stuffed animals from thrift stores, refurbished them and donated the like new toys to needy children.
Ardis leaves behind her brother, Dee W. Hock; 3 children, 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by Harold, Kathleen, and grandson, Derek Bitton.
At her request, private family services were held on March 17, 2014 at the Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
We express sincere gratitude for the loving care she received from Mill Run Gardens and Care Center in Hilliard Ohio.
