Arizona Dawn Gibbens Pella

May 27, 1942 ~ March 27, 2016

LAYTON, UTAH – Arizona Dawn Pella, 73, passed away on March 27, 2016 in Ogden, Utah, peacefully surrounded by family, struggling from a long illness.  She was born on May 27, 1942 in Aurora, Colorado, a daughter of Charles and Ruth Harman Gibbens.

She married Robert C. Pella on January 24, 1972 in Elko, Nevada.

Arizona had been a packer for the Defense Depot of Ogden, and owning and operating her own café in Arizona, and retired from being a food director for the Senior Center in Clearfield, Utah.

She was a member of the Ladies of Elks in Roy, Utah.

Her favorite thing was breeding and raising many birds of a variety of breeds.

Surviving are two daughters and three sons, Dorla (Steve) Morgan, Ogden, Utah; Karla Howard, Roy, Utah; Chris (Rita) Pella, Smithfield, Utah; Scott (Karla) Pella, Garland, Utah; Shawn (Maria) Pella, San Antonio, Texas; and a son-in-law, Gerry Herman, Brigham City, Utah; 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and her one sister and one brother, Rebecca (Gene) Thomas, Mesa, Arizona; and Ted (Sharon) Pierce, Holladay, Utah.  Preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Pella; mother, Ruth Pierce; father, Charles Gibbens; sister, Pam Fowler; and daughter, Barbara Gene Herman.

A special thanks to Mt. Ogden Nursing Home and Rehab and especially to nurse Jen and therapist Gordon, thanks for all your help.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Brigham City Cemetery.
