Arleen Emma Sessions Dockter March 25, 1914 ~ June 18, 2008

Arleen Emma Sessions Dockter passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the age of 94. She was born to Parley Pratt Sessions and Sarah Elisabeth Goddard on March 25, 1914 in Ogden, Utah. She married her sweetheart, Jack Norris Dockter, on November 5, 1938 in Ogden. They solemnized their marriage on May 7, 1977 in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Arleen was a very gifted writer of both music and poetry. She never sent a card without one of her own poems written inside. She was an expert seamstress and loved to crochet. She made afghans for each of her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the South Ogden 5th Ward. She loved children and served as chorister in the primary for many years. She has written over a hundred songs. She performed years of selfless service for her family, in the Church, in her neighborhood and at the hospital as a pink lady. Her influence has been deeply felt in many lives. She especially loved doing temple work and spent many hours in the temple. She was energetic through all of her 94 years. Her greatest joy was her family.

Arleen is survived by her three children, Jackie (Jan) Smith, Sharon (Frank) Diaz, and Gary (Julie) Dockter; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Affectionately known as "Nana", there are not enough words to describe how much she was loved by everyone who knew her. Nana lived a full, rich and rewarding life. We are so blessed to have shared a part of her life. Knowing she is together forever with her sweetheart, Jack, brings us great comfort.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the South Ogden 5th Ward Chapel, located at 4380 Orchard Avenue. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
