Arlen W. Bell
WASHINGTON, Utah – Arlen White Bell, 73, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at his home following a short bout with cancer.
He was born December 26, 1935 in Ogden, a son of Lester LeRoy and Erma Elizabeth White Bell.
On September 9, 1958, Arlen married Judy Marie George in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Reserves.
Arlen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in many callings including a mission to the Eastern Central States, and another with his wife Judy in the London Temple Mission.
He was the owner and operator of Bell Photographers for many years with his father, sons, and William J. Galbraith III.
Arlen was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. In the end, he was satisfied that he had accomplished everything he wanted including his lifelong dream of fishing in Alaska (28 times) and was ready for the next big adventure.
He is survived by “Team Bell”, his wife, Judy of Washington, UT; his children, Matthew (Kayla) Bell, David (Christie) Bell, Michael (Wendi) Bell and Steven (Sharla) Bell, all of Ogden; Nathan (Michele) Bell, South Weber; Elizabeth Bolos, St. George; 22 grandchildren and the add-ons, The Les Greenwood Family.
Also surviving are one brother, Jeffrey W. Bell, Midway; and one sister, Sally Sampson, Bountiful.
Arlen was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Canyon Crest Ward Chapel, 6350 So. Combe Road.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Primary Children’s Medical Center.
