Bountiful- Arlene Jackson Gold, age 65, passed away peacefully Monday, February 5, 2018.

She was born January 6, 1953 in Logan, Utah to David Andrew and Evelyn Mary Jackson.  She married Spencer Kelly Gold in the Salt Lake Temple on September 10, 1975.

Arlene and Spencer lived in Salt Lake and Davis counties, settling in a house across the street from her childhood home in Bountiful.  While divorcing only a few years later, Arlene and daughters continued to call this home for 28 years.  Arlene attended the Bountiful 16th Ward where she sang in the choir and served in the Relief Society, Young Women’s and Primary.  Arlene was grateful, and her family is grateful, for the kindness and love shown to her and her children the many years they were part of the ward family.

Arlene was a lifelong learner, particularly when it came to teaching kids with special needs.  She received her master’s in special education from Utah State University with an endorsement from the University of Utah in teaching of the visually impaired.  She spent the better part of her career teaching, counseling, and advocating for students with disabilities at schools throughout Davis County.

Arlene enjoyed family and ward gatherings and the companionship of her daughters and grandchildren, baking, dining out, going on shopping trips, and the movies.  She leaves behind a legacy of four daughters, Angela, Abby (Andrew), April (Sam), and Amanda.  She is also survived by two sisters, Sheila (Ray) and Saundra (Guy), and eight grandchildren, two of whom, Sabrina and Angelina, she adopted.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Bountiful 16th Ward,  720 E. 550 N..  Friends may visit family Thurs. Feb. 8th at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. from 6-8pm and Friday at the Church from 12:30-1:30pm prior to services. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, Bountiful, Utah.
