Arlene Augusta Boren Grandstaff
Our sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away peacefully on June 19, 2018 in Clearfield, Utah at the age of 82. She was born January 24, 1936 in Soda Springs Idaho to Wilford F and Louise Rueckert Boren. She was the fourth of six children. She was raised in Salt Lake City and Springville, Utah.
She graduated from South High School. She married her sweetheart Louis H. Grandstaff on May 22, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of the LDS church and served in all organizations. She was a member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She served as a special needs primary teacher for several years and as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Utah Temple and loved to do genealogy, but her greatest joy was her family and spending time with them.
She taught her children the value of work by example; she worked at several different jobs throughout her life. She lived the majority of her life in the Davis County area.
She is survived by her seven children, Debra (Clay) Christensen, Ronald (Eliisa) Grandstaff, Terri (Sherman) Sanders, Scott (Rene) Grandstaff, Todd (Tammy) Grandstaff, Jana (Scott) Clark, and Mindi Jean. 27 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with two more on the way. Also survived by sister, Emma Harris, her brother Ralph (Margene) Boren, sister, Beverly (Darrell) Bowen and Carma Boren, sister in law. Preceded in death by her loving sweetheart, father and mother, brother Wilford Boren, sister Winifred Boren, Robert Harris brother in law, and granddaughter Jenny Sanders.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Willow Pines Ward, 331 South 50 West in Kaysville Utah. Friends may visit with family Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’ s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N Main Street, Kaysville, UT and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
