Arlene Patterson Harris
Arlene Patterson Harris died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her home in Elwood, Utah surrounded by her family.
She was born in Fairmont, (now Riverdale) Utah, August 26, 1917 to Joseph A. and Vira Stewart Patterson.
She married Spencer A. Harris August 16, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple.
They raised their family of 10 children in Layton, Utah. They later resided in Kanesville, Syracuse and recently Elwood, Utah. She made friends easily wherever she lived.
She and Spencer served a mission in Maine and served as officiators in the Ogden Temple. Temple attendance was important to her. She faithfully attended the temple every week.
Arlene loved camping with her children. She loved fresh vegetables from the garden. She loved watching BYU sports and the Jazz. She enjoyed music.
She was very attached to the boys who brought her the sacrament and the staff of Prim Rose.
She is survived by her brother Joe Patterson, Plain City; and eight children: Lamont Harris, Bountiful; Dean Harris, Roy; Robert Harris, Lubbock, TX; Patsy Womack, Bear River City; Janet Bredthauer, North Salt Lake; Susan Clark, Yelm, WA; Kristine Hammond, Elberta; Kent Harris, Tremonton; as well as 31 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Spencer, son, Steven and daughter Elaine. She is also preceded by grandchildren, Justin Clark, Nathan Harris, Craig Bredthauer, sisters, Doris Moosman, Fern Levitt, and brothers, Vern Patterson and Bert Patterson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Elwood Chapel, 9600 No. 4800 W., Elwood, Utah. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
