LAYTON a€" Arlene Francis Shaffer, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008.

She was born November 16, 1921 in Marshalltown, Iowa the daughter of Wesley and Grace Cooper.

Arlene married Keith M. Shaffer. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1991. Surviving are her two sons Curtis, Layton; Darrell, West Jordan; four grandchildren, Rick, Nicole, Natalie, Hayley, four great-grandchildren, brother, Keith Cooper, Nevada, Iowa; and sister, Betty Mahoney, San Diego, CA.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Helen.

Friends and family may call Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 8, 2008 in Lynnville, Iowa.
