WEST POINT – Arlo Ladean Mueller, 91, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home.
He was born May 4, 1922 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Louis and Harriett Yost Mueller. He grew up in Lander, Wyoming and traveled extensively with his parents throughout his childhood.
He served his country honorably during World War II.
On May 3, 1943, Arlo married Arbie Larine Judkins. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. She preceded him in death August 28, 2007.
He was a fireman for Ogden City and also Hill AFB. He was instrumental in helping the Ogden City Fire Department become unionized. Arlo also worked as a general contractor and built many homes in the Ogden area.
He enjoyed collecting and shooting guns, and reloading his own ammunition.
Arlo is survived by his son, Darrell (Ricky) Mueller, three grandchildren, Michelle Mueller, Michael (Elizabeth) Mueller, Matthew Mueller, seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Donna Madden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 16th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
