Arlow Wayne Fisher 1925 ~ 2009 Arlow Wayne Fisher left this world to return home on June 1, 2009. He was born November 4, 1925 in Clearfield, Utah, to Harold Major Fisher and Bertha Irene Garner. Wayne attended Davis County Schools, graduating from Davis High School. He attended classes at the Utah State Agricultural College (USU) and the University of Utah. In 1942 he married Verda Hill Barnes. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She passed away in 1983. Wayne was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was very proud of being President of his gospel doctrine class for many years. He was a faithful home teacher. During World War II, Wayne served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in Kingman, AZ and Shreveport, LA., as an aerial gunner instructor. After the war, at age 21, he was employed by the Atomic Energy Commission in Los Alamos, NM. He worked at Hill Air Force Base as an equipment specialist and retired in 1980. He traveled extensively during his career. In 1983 Wayne married Aldene Ringer. During his life he was an avid journal writer. He appreciated all additions by others to his journals. He loved to read. His other interests included baseball, basketball, social dancing and in his later years fun trips to Las Vegas and Wendover, where he never lost money. He was preceded in death by his wife Verda; three brothers, Dale, Ronald, and Gary (Lillian); one sister, Donna; and a great-granddaughter, Madeleine. Wayne is survived by his wife, Aldene; two daughters, Diane (Michael) Duckworth and Carma (Mark) Rushton; one son, David (Judy) Fisher; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Sheldon (Barbara) Fisher. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 5, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
