Armina Read Taylor Widdison, 87, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010 at her home.
She was born July 18, 1922 in Hooper, Utah to Thomas W. and Elizabeth Anne Christensen Read.
She married Donald James Taylor in 1944 in the LDS Temple, he passed away in 1947. On July 1, 1949, Armina married Melvin Widdison in the Logan LDS Temple. Melvin preceded her in death on November 15, 2006.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities and enjoyed directing the road shows. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
For over 60 years, Armina worked as secretary and treasurer for the Hooper Irrigation Company.
In her younger years she loved to play golf. She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. She was a season ticket holder of college basketball for over 65 years and loved watching the Utah Jazz.
Armina was an honest, trustworthy individual and people respected her for those qualities. She was involved in organizing multiple family activities.
Armina is survived by a son, Lyle Taylor; son-in-law, Jim (Joan) Rumsey; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Zelma Hancock, West Weber.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, a daughter, Dawn Rumsey, two grandsons, Rhett Taylor, Todd Taylor and a great-grandson, Matthew Rumsey.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Hooper 3rd Ward Chapel, 5601 South 6100 West.
The family will meet friends for a viewing on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 at the church.
Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
