Arnold Burns Monk, 72, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012 in the area he loved, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He was born August 2, 1940 in Cowley, Wyoming, to Arthur Jones and Lena Burns Monk, the youngest of seven children.
Arnold married Gloria Young in the Salt Lake Temple on August 19, 1968. Each day Arnold realized he was more in love than the previous day with Gloria. He was an active member of the LDS Fairfield 2nd Ward.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was an electrical engineer working on the Hell Fire missile at Hill Air Force Base. He loved reading and loved to debate. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to garden. He enjoyed vacationing and camping, and most of all, his daughter Allie and his grandkids. Arnold was a LVAD patient and the family would like to thank the team and especially Robyn Mengis who was the nurse coordinator with the Utah Artificial Heart Program.
He is survived by his wife Gloria, daughter Allison Monk (Tristen) Talbot, two grandchildren, Ireland and Kellyn, and his sister Abby.
Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
