Arta Spencer Chambers Lamb

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother Arta Lamb passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Rocky Mountain Care in Clearfield, Utah. Arta was born December 26, 1929 in Escalante, Utah to Jesse Owen and Arthela Mitchell Spencer. She moved with her family to Ogden at age twelve, where she graduated from Weber High School in 1948.

Arta married Levear Chambers in 1948 and had three daughters: Stephanie Brady, Julie Rupe and Charollet Chambers. After Levear passed away in 1974, Arta married Joseph W. Lamb on September 15, 1979. Joe had five sons who Arta helped raise and grew to love as her own.

She worked 18 years at Cutter Lab, 2 years at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and retired from IRS in 1992.

When Arta and Joe were not traveling the U.S. in their fifth wheel or motor home, she spent her time and talents oil and porcelain painting or reading. After retiring Arta and Joe moved to Hurricane, Utah where she made many new friends and enjoyed A.T.V touring in the beautiful St. George, Arizona and Nevada redrock areas. In 2000, at the age of 70 Arta and Joe together built their dream log home in Donnelly, Idaho. They spent their summers in the mountains of Idaho and wintered in the St. George area. Arta was a member of LDS Church.

Arta is survived by her husband, Joe; daughters, Stephanie of Syracuse, Julie of Ogden, and Charollet of Roy; three stepsons, Richard (Donna) Lamb and Warren (Amy) Lamb both of Layton and Michael Lamb of ND; brothers, Gary (Diane) Spencer of Saratoga Springs, Rollo (Sylvia) of Couperville, WA, Rodney (Maurene) of Ft. Meyers, FL and Stephen (Mary) Spencer of Eden, UT; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
