Arthur John Aragon

If you are reading this in the paper then I am no longer of this world but have passed on to the eternal world promised by Jesus. Hopefully, I am headed up and not down.

I was fortunate to have been brought into this world on March 15, 1938 in Durango, Colorado by two wonderful parents, Beatrice and John Aragon (both deceased). They, along with my two older sisters, Francis Martinez (Layton, UT), (Patricia Aragon deceased) and two younger brothers, Anthony Aragon (North Ogden, UT) and Fermin (Lee) Aragon (Tonka Bay, MN) made up our immediate family. My parents passed on their value system of hard work, fair play, and honesty which I tried to emulate; unfortunately, not as well as they did. After graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1956, I attended the University of Loyola for a few months, and then decided I didn''t need a college education and joined the U.S. Army where I spent three years in the 82nd Airborne Division jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.

After being honorably discharged from the Army I met my future wife Helen Dominguez, my friend, companion, soul mate, lover and mother of our four wonderful children. They are LTC-Ret. Art Aragon Jr. (Penne), Sierra Vista, AZ; Eric Aragon, (ex spouse Shuree), Salt Lake City, UT; Matt Aragon (ex spouse Alesha), Roy, UT; and Patricia "Tricia" Aragon (spouse Chris Harden), Roy, UT; who have been sources of pride and joy throughout my life. Yes, there have been trials and tribulations, but through it all we have been able to deal with life as it confronts us each day and do the best we can with the wonderful gifts we have been given. Our children along with their spouses brought into this world our grandchildren who are dear to my heart and whom I love very much. Allysa, Zachary, Amy, Sable, Ashton, Madison, Austin, Emerson, and Ethan.

I spent 34 years working for the Boeing Company retiring in 1995. It was a wonderful place to work and I was fortunate to have worked with some tremendous people. During that time, I went back to college at Weber State on a part time basis and eventually received my Bachelor''s Degree. Also during those years, I spent time volunteering at St. Mary''s Catholic Church, coaching CYO basketball, teaching CCD, Parish Council, Diocesan Development Drive, Choir, Lector and Eucharistic Minister. These were all experiences which helped me grow as a person and during which time I met many wonderful people. Thank you all for your friendship and support. I tried hard to do the right things, making mistakes, falling down, getting up and trying again and it has been a wonderful life. I want to thank all my golfing friends for their patience and understanding out on the golf course. I also want to thank all those wonderful people who supported the ROY RELAY FOR LIFE, I am sure that the continuation of this Community event to raise funds for Cancer research will assure that some day you will be able to say, "We have found a cure". I would also like to say thanks to Dr. Gray and his staff for their loving and compassionate care. You are special people. So long until we meet again. Love you all.

In lieu of flowers, the family and Art ask that you consider donating to the American Cancer Society through the Roy Relay for Life, www.cancer.org or the Huntsman Cancer Institute, www.huntsmancancerfoundation.org, in the name of Arthur J. Aragon, Sr.

The family would also like to thank Hearts for Hospice, especially Jeannie, you are all Angels in our eyes.
