A. L. Gudmundson
March 2, 1938 ~ August 14, 2015
"Together Again"
Arthur Leon Gudmundson passed peacefully surrounded by family and special caregivers on August 14, 2015.
He was born on March 2, 1938 the son of Dr. A.D. & Helen Gudmundson.
He married his high school sweetheart Georgeann on September 4, 1960. They were inseparable for the next 40 years until her passing.
He graduated from the University of Utah with a pharmacy degree and up to the time of his passing was still a registered pharmacist – he was so proud to have held that title for 53 years. He worked for Thrifty Drug for several years until taking a sales position with Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories. For the next 35 years his sales territory took him to Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and all over Utah. He had a warm and wonderful sense of humor and life long relationships were quickly cemented with many of the Dr’s and nurses that he called upon. He was also a fantastic salesmen and received many recognitions and promotions in the company.
He was an avid outdoors man and loved to hunt but fishing was at the top of his list. No matter the weather, Flaming Gorge, Jackson Lake and the Madison River would be calling and he would just have to visit them to see what fish they held in store for him. He was a fantastic father and there was never a summer that pasted without a trip to some exciting destination. Education and fun were rolled into one and his children grew great knowledge about history from places all over the U.S.
How do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to perfume, teaching right from wrong and weak to strong….I hope Dad that I made you proud of what I have become. You gave me your heart, soul and a lot of spit fire and I thank you a thousand times over from the bottom of my soul.
Leon is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Kevin) Anderson; three grandson’s Alex, Bodey and Garrett; sister Judy Krull and brother in law Glen (Jennie) Wheelock and many nieces and nephews.
