Arthur LaVern Headley, 88, passed away peacefully Friday, August 9, 2013, after a short battle with lymphoma cancer.
He was born February 25, 1925 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Arthur I. and Mary C. Headley. He graduated from Benson High School in Omaha, Nebraska.
On April 19, 1946, Art married Barbara Thackeray. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on June 28, 1963.
He was a faithful member of the Roy West Park LDS Ward, where he served in various church callings.
Art retired from Unisys after 40 years of service.
He loved his family and enjoyed camping, GOLFING, and various recreational activities with them. He loved all sports and often refereed as an umpire. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Art is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, four children, Kim (Lamar) Walters, Mark (Sharon), Jann Miller, Cari Daybell; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Floyd (Betty) Headley.
He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Jill, one brother, Wayne, two sisters, Glendora and Eileen, and one son-in-law, Stan Berg.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Legacy Health Care (Hospice) and the loving staff of Country Pines Assisted Living Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17th at 11 a.m. at the Roy West Park Ward Chapel, 4524 South 2525 West.
The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
