Arthur L. Janes 1922 - 2012

Arthur L. Janes, age 89, passed away at home in Spanish Fork, Utah on Sunday, April 8, 2012 and joined his beloved sweetheart, Dorothy. Art was born September 10, 1922 in Stockton, California to Ralph and Grace Armstrong Janes.

After graduating from high school in Bakersfield, California, Arthur entered military service during World War II. Serving at H.A.F.B. and Wendover in the 509th-bomb group. After the war, he worked at H.A.F.B. as a civilian for 30 years.

Art enjoyed his association in the Fraternal Order of Eagles serving as President of Ogden Aerie 2472 and State Aerie President.

He married Dorothy Potter on May 21, 1944 in Kanesville, Utah. She passed away in November 2005 after 61 years of marriage.

Art is survived by three children, Ralph (Jann) of Ogden, Marilynn Eskridge of Uintah and Bonnie (Chris) Dixon of Spanish Fork; ten grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Howard and sister, Kathleen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
