Arthur Junior Steele

LAYTON a€" Arthur Junior Steele, 84, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012.

He was born November 9, 1927 in Rico, Colorado the son of Arthur A. and Arvilla May Evans Steele.

Arthur worked at Deseret Chemical before joining the Navy during World War II. He served on a war ship in China and was released at Pearl Harbor. He served in the Air National Guard in Arizona and the Air Force Reserves at Luke AFB Arizona where he was a Supervisor in the Fire Department.

He married Patricia Ballard in 1951. They later divorced.

He played football and baseball at Carbon College and coached basketball and softball at Luke AFB. He enjoyed eating, his favorite sport!

Arthur was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are his sons, Kent Steele, Bennion, Utah; Robert Steele, Layton; daughter Connie Cooper, Vernal; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and sister Carolyn A. Warren, Layton.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Mary Evans, parents, Bert and Arvilla Warren, brother Tom Steele, sister Mary Lou Kosanke, grandson Brandson Steele and granddaughter Camille Steele.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the Monticello Stake Center, Main Steet. Interment, Monticello Cemetery.

Services entrusted to Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
