Artoosh Hasratian
October 14, 1942 ~ May 26, 2014
Artoosh Hasratian, our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, May 26, 2014.
Throughout his life, he was a great example of generosity, unconditional love, forgiveness and kindness.
A man who came from humble beginnings, and spent his life sharing everything he earned. He travelled to America at a young age, and was committed to providing a life full of comfort, joy and happiness for his family. He was a man of great vision, and created incredible prosperity when all of the odds were stacked up against him.
Above all else, he was completely dedicated to his business, The El Matador Restaurant in Bountiful, Utah. A loving entrepreneur and employer, he maintained the loyalty of many employees for 30+ years. His goal was never to have the most, but to have enough to afford him the freedom to give and give and give—which he did! He understood the value of loyal customers. In family prayers, he would always express his gratitude for his amazing business associates, employees and his treasured customers. He was incredibly grateful for the tradition El Matador became in generations of families. He will miss you all.
Artoosh was full of the most beautiful idiosyncrasies. You would always find him in a freshly pressed Polo, khakis, and his trusty black Nikes. He was probably humming some Elvis or Frank Sinatra—or possibly sharing a random, but incredibly insightful piece of advice.
Artoosh loved his family more than anything in the world. A day never passed without him calling each of his children to let them know how much he loved them. He attended as many activities for his children and grandchildren as he could possibly squeeze into his busy life.
A man of great wisdom and conviction, Artoosh had a deep and lasting testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sealed to his sweetheart, Rosemarie, on February 14, 2008, in the Manti Utah Temple.
He was truly a man full of life. He had outrageous stories to share and was constantly the one entertaining the crowd. He was cheerful and silly and shared love freely.
An extraordinary man; he will be missed and remembered by all of those lucky enough to have known him.
Artoosh’s legacy will live on through his wife, Rosemarie; his children, Cami (Todd), Hyke (Lisa), Anton (Justina), and Samantha (Lee); and his ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Weber Heights Stake Center, 1401 Country Hills Dr., Ogden. An evening in remembrance of Artoosh will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
