Arwana (Susie) Jane Kelsey

Layton – Arwana Jane Kelsey, 69, a long-time Layton resident, passed away peacefully following complications from several surgeries on March 5, 2025.

Born on January 4, 1956 in Ogden, UT, to Thelma Jane Adams and Archie Matthew Burdine.

She attended Bountiful High School, in Bountiful, Utah and worked at Davis County Library.

Arwana married the love of her life, Robert Workman Kelsey on October 28, 1997, in Grantsville, Utah.

They raised three sons; Zack, Luke, and Wyatt. Tragically, on November 27, 2014, Arwana and Bob lost their son, Wyatt Shay Kelsey, in an automobile accident. Following his services, his urn has remained with Arwana and Bob. Per their wishes, he will be laid to rest next to her at Lindquist Memorial Park Cemetery.

Arwana is survived by her husband of 27 years (Together for 31 years), Bob Kelsey, Layton; Zackery C. (Alissa) Kelsey, Vancouver, Washington; Luke (Katie) Borders, (Farr West Utah); brothers, Phil (Karen) Burdine, Sonoita, Arizona; Gino Burdine, Kingman, Arizona; and sister, Angie Mills (Kearns, Utah).

In addition to her son, Arwana was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Forrest Burdine.

A Memorial Celebration of Life for Arwana will be announced in the near future.

Cremation is in care of Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
