Asael Bright Hyer
Our loving husband, father and grandfather Asael Bright Hyer, 99, passed away at home peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 23, 2012. Asael was born in Lewiston, Utah on September 3, 1913 to Brigham and Emma May Bright Hyer.
Ace proudly served in the Army during WWII in the Invasion of France, Battle of the Bulge and landed on Normandy Beach on D-Day.
He married Geraldine Virginia Ransbarger on April 3, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. Ace and Jerry loved dancing and socializing with their many friends. Jerry passed away on July 11, 1988. He married Edith Rawlings Barlow on November 17, 1989 in Logan, Utah.
Ace was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in several different positions. He enjoyed doing genealogy work and loved working in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was a dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ.
He worked for the US Government at DDO as an inspector until his retirement. After he retired, he enjoyed golfing with friends and family.
Ace is survived by his children, Craig (Rexan) Hyer, Farr West; Richard (Bonnie) Hyer, Ogden and Kay (Robert) Greaves, Layton; 19 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
The family would like to thank his daughter, Kay for the love and tender care she provided for him in the last couple of years of his life and Vista Care Hospice for their loving care.
