Asel Brower Boman, 86, of Layton returned to his Heavenly Father July 10, 2016.
He was born June 24, 1930 at home on the family farm in Lewiston, Utah to Golden and Phoebe Pitcher Boman, the 6th of 9 children.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Hill Air Force Base as an aircraft engine mechanic for 32 years retiring in 1986. He also retired from the U.S. Air Force reserves.
After retiring he had a yard care and odd job business that he enjoyed very much. He loved working with tractors and other machinery and could repair almost anything. He was always caring and concerned for others and served them in so many ways.
He enjoys spending time with family and friends and would lift everyone’s spirits with kind words and encouragement and a positive attitude, not to mention his light-hearted, fun demeanor and contagious laughter.
He was an active member to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He married Dora E Gittins on March 6, 1953. Their vows were later solemnized in the LDS Ogden Temple. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Dora, children, Vickie Boman Schwab, Lu Ann (Jeff) Hardy, and Trent A (Manuela) Boman. He has 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Alva Boman, Ray Boman, Don Boman, Vernal Boman, sister, Connie Boman Blair Morrison, son in laws, Wm Kirby Mosser, Dennis L Cavanee, Robert L Schwab and granddaughter in-law, Candace Clark Mosser.
The family wishes to thank the loving and caring staff at Chancellor Gardens and Comfort Worx Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:00 at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Rd, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, where military honors will be accorded.
