Ashley Ray Tebbs beloved mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend lost her battle with mental illness in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Ashley was born May 14, 1983, in Ogden, Utah; she was the first of two daughters born to David Stanley and Janeil Spendlove Tebbs. Ashley spent the first few years of her childhood living in Clearfield and then later moving to Roy where she met many lifelong friends along the way. Ashley was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of eight and began her uphill battle. Around the age of eleven Ashley, her dad and younger sister, moved back to Clearfield where she befriended her best friend for life, Ashlie Nanes McDonald, along with the majority of the friends she still talked to and hung out with well into adulthood.
Ashley became a mom when her beautiful baby girl, Evie Nicole was born in May of 2006. Ash loved taking Evie everywhere with her, whether it was to the Tebbs family cabin, Samaria to visit her grandparents or on any adventure she may have been off to. For Evie’s 16th birthday, Ash bought her an old square body Chevy, that she named Dolly, in hopes Evie could build it up just like Dave’s. Ashley’s proudest moment as a mother was watching Evie walk across her graduation stage and receive her high school diploma.
In October of 2007 Ashley’s father, David, passed away leaving her struggling more than ever with her mental illnesses. Her love for him was irreplaceable and the love he had for her was the thing that left her feeling the emptiest in the years since his death. Some of her fondest memories were spent in Moab with him and her uncles driving trails and camping wherever they ended up. Ashley’s favorite place in the world to be was Burning Man. It was her true home, her spirit free out in Black Rock City, and it was there she was given the name Desert Flower which she lived up to in the truest of ways. Ashley loved cooking for anyone and everyone who would accept it, making record flowers and giving them away, thrifting and popping tags, music that touched her soul and carried her away. She had a special love for big, furry, crazy looking coats and had such a unique style that made her who she was. Ash had a very special bond with her oldest niece Ava, her Ava Bear, as she called her and cherished the moments she spent babysitting her in her early years and every moment spent with her since. She was a light in everyone’s lives, always worrying about and giving everything she could to others while she battled her demons silently.
Ashley is survived by her daughter, Evie Nicole, her sister Kelsey Tebbs (Zack VanWormer), nephew Braiden David, and two nieces Ava Ashlyn and Hazel Lee along with many other family members all whom she loved dearly. Ash is preceded in death by both of her parents David Stanley Tebbs and Janeil Spendlove Tebbs. Along with her Grandma and Grandpa Tebbs, Grandma and Grandpa Spendlove, and her two cousins Kerissa and Kassidy Tebbs.
Ashley’s family is aware that each person will grieve this tremendous loss in their own way and would like to invite any friends or family to come and say their goodbyes on Sunday March 23, 2025 from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
Please note: Evie has personally requested for parents to please take into consideration how seeing Ashley will affect your children as she doesn’t want to cause any unnecessary harm or discomfort.
A celebration of Ashley’s life will be held at a later date during the month of May where friends and family will be able to share their stories, photos, and memories of her.
