Athleen Edith (Peggy) Day Kjelstrom
LAYTON a" Athleen Edith (Peggy) Day Kjelstrom, 86, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008.
She was born on October 19, 1921 in Layton the daughter of William and Alice Edith Boylin Day.
Peggy married George William Kjelstrom on July 16, 1943 in Reno, Nevada. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1998.
She was a member of the LDS Church serving as a Cub Scout Den Leader, Primary Secretary, Historian and faithful visiting teacher.
Peggy was very content being in her home and you could hardly ever pry her out even for a trip or vacation. She was an animal and cat lover, she liked Sam her last cat, better than most humans. Peggy was a super seamstress, avid reader, great cook and sports enthusiast. She loved the Jazz and BYU football and could beat anyone she knew at tennis and played Layton City Softball.
Peggy loved her grandchildren with what she called a special, pure love, and always had sweet treats for them.
Surviving are her son Scott William Kjelstrom, Salt Lake City; daughters Kerry (Ken) Farr, Rockland, ID; Becky (Theo) Kjelstrom, Portland, OR; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, brother Bill (Ann) Day, Layton; and sister Connie (Ed) Robertson, Layton.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband George W. Kjelstrom and brother, Robert B. Day. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
