The morning of November 23, 2007 Audene Dawson Lewis passed away as a result of a stroke or heart condition then a fall at her home. Audene was born July 15, 1930 to Fidelia and Elias Dawson in Ogden, Utah. Audene is survived by two brothers: Dale (Bermuda) Dawson, Newton, UT and David (Marian) Dawson, Mt. Holly, NC.; daughter Jane Lewis (Mark) Leloudis and two children, Bountiful, UT; son David (Joyce) Lewis III and five children, Fruit Heights, UT.
Audene was preceded in death by her husband David Lewis Jr. and one grandson, John Leloudis.
Their life together was framed by her husband''s Air Force flying career, which led them to live on bases on islands of the Pacific and almost all regions of the United States. After retiring, they settled in Kaysville, Utah with their two teen-aged children. In a few short years the teenagers became parents and Audene became a grandma and a widow. Her independence as a widow, her example as a grandmother and her life of great faith helped create two strong families with David and Jane. Illness robbed her of many of her memories and the accuracy of many recollections but never did anything have the power to rob her of her joy when she would greet family or loved ones.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Crestwood Stake Center, 855 E Mutton Hollow Road. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main, and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 at the church.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
