August Gilbert Reimschussel

February 15, 2013 ~ August 2, 2015

August Gilbert Reimschussel was born, five minutes after his twin brother, George, on February 15, 2013, at NY Presbyterian Hospital in New York City to very happy and proud parents Gilbert Reimschussel and Tiffany Christopulos. Henry, almost three years old at the time, was very proud to be a big brother.

We called August "Gus" which means "great", but it fails to describe how exceptional, beautiful, sweet, and wonderful he is. At George and Gus's fifteen month check up, Tiffany and our pediatrician gave Gus the title "Rebel Dancer" and George, the "Gentle Climber".

August was fun loving, mischievous, and loved to dance and sing. He gave big kisses and short hugs. He loved pillow fights and singing along to songs in the car. He liked the songs his Mom liked. He had an infectious smile and a beautiful twinkle in his eyes. August was a dancer, a snuggler, and a biter. He could bite! We would gladly take all the bites he could dish out to get him back. He was such a sweet, happy soul.

He loved running away down the sidewalk by our home. When we said, "August stop! , he would look back, give that sweet smile and that twinkle, and turn and run with no intention of stopping. He had a lovie , a small stuffed tiger, he called Guy . Guy went everywhere with August.

George, Henry, and August were all the best of friends; exept when August would playfully bite one of them followed by a grin and quick, sorry.

Some of August s favorite phrases were That s it! , my turn , watch a show , and read a book . "No, no, no!" was a common response to everything. At the conclusion of a story, a turn with a toy, or a tickle, the request for more came as "mo' dime" or "one mo' dime!", an adaptation of our parental promptings of "Last time" and "one more time". His little finger raise to indicate just one "mo' dime" was a sure way to get at least five more times.

The last night of August s life, George, Henry, and Gus all took a bath. August was splashing his brothers and laughing. After the bath George and Gus held hands on Tiffany s lap while she read to them. August s last words to his mom were ugga mugga ; which means I love you .

Gus passed away at home in the early hours of Sunday morning, August 2, 2015. He was battling a viral croup. The cause of death is still pending.

We love you so much August. We wish we had mo dime . While our hearts are broken and we struggle to make sense of why you are no longer with us, we take comfort in your lasting spirit and knowing you are with your Grandpa Tony and your twin uncles Travis and Tyson.

August is survived by his older brother Henry; twin brother, George; his parents, one Great-grandma, one great-grandpa, two grandmas, one grandpa, ten aunts, eleven uncles, twenty-seven beautiful cousins, and countless friends.

We thank you so much for all your love and support at this time. We feel like we are being carried through this devastating time. We are filled with much gratitude, thank you. We love you all and would do anything to have our sweet boy back.
