Austin Hamilton
September 18, 1997 ~ March 19, 2016
Austin Hamilton, age 18, passed away at home on March 19, 2016 after complications from a neurological death ray invented by that nefarious and dastardly villain GrandMal Seizure, which had plagued him for far too long.
Most people know Austin best as the “Green Arrow.” We want to thank him for his many years of service protecting his community, his loving mother, Stacy, his awesome little brother Jesse, grandma Ann, aunt Julie, and uncle Charles (no…not Charles Xavier) that survived him.
Austin was preceded in death by other family superheroes that eagerly await their super reunion with him in the hallowed chambers of our Heavenly Father. These include his grandfatherly crime fighting duo: Orlando and Gylde (aka: “the Mighty Men of Mayhem”), his courageous aunt Sandy (aka: “Sandrinator”), and his uncle Terry (aka: “Batman”).
We mostly knew Austin as the quiet kid that was only two months away from graduating at Fremont High School that now leaves behind innumerable friends that he influenced and loved. Austin had played a very active role in leading deacons, teachers, and priest quorums and lovingly served the people of Warren. He fought and won against the mighty Flood of 2011. He championed the underdog and made everyone feel special. His super human vision never overlooked anybody and he would make the lonely feel included every day. His super hearing was used to discover and solve problems for untold numbers of people in his short life.
Austin loved movies, music, games, shooting and fishing, and experienced delight in any activity that took him in to the mountain or the outdoors. He loved to camp and be with his many friends and family. Austin was fiercely protective of his mother and his little brother and lived as the “man of the house” with the maturity and devotion that would make any parent proud. He was the rock for his mother even when she tried to be his. Like all heroes he carried this undeserved burden with dignity and pride.
Warren has lost one of its greatest champions the day he fell. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. Now it falls to mighty Jesse to carry Austin’s legacy and rise like a phoenix from the ashes – using this tragedy to forge himself into the next mighty hero.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Warren Ward Chapel, 856 North 5900 West. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Warren Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
