Barbara Jean Buck

Barbara Jean Buck, 82, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 14, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She is now joyously celebrating with her family above.

She was born April 24, 1931 in Washington D.C. to Thelma and Edwin Dowling.

Barbara loved reading, arranging flowers and in her earlier years, oil painting. She was always excited to talk to anybody about anything. She was very funny and very smart. She traveled around the globe as an Army wife, unfortunately never making it to her dream state of Hawaii.

She was very proud of all her children and grandchildren. She loved them all dearly.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Thelma Bell; her children, Andrea, Stephen and Robert; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Karen, brother, Joe, and sister, Mary Alice.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Park Care Center for her earlier care, Mt. Ogden Health & Rehab and CNS Hospice for her care at the end.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 17th at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
