Barbara E. Byington
SUNSET a" Barbara Evans Byington, 79, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton.
She was born July 9, 1928 in Eden, Utah, a daughter of David Morgan and Anina L. Pectol Evans. She attended Weber High School.
On September 7, 1945, Barbara married Lawrence Edward Byington in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Sunset 2nd Ward. She served twice as Relief Society President and also in many other callings including many years of charitable service.
Barbara worked for Defense Depot Ogden and later for the Internal Revenue Service as a tax examiner. She retired after a total of 28 years of service.
Barbara loved to watch her children and grandchildren play ball. She also enjoyed playing card games and board games with them. Barbara loved helping others.
A special thanks to her grandson, Jason Beck, for his caring hand and her nurse, Sharon Palmer, at Davis Hospital and Medical Center.
Surviving are her husband, Lawrence, of Sunset; one son and one daughter, Steven (Doreen) Byington, Clinton; Darlene (Thomas) Boyd, Layton; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her brother, Morgan D. (Carol) Evans, and her sister, Thelma (Paul) Hamblin.
Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, one daughter, Patricia Holliday, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
