Barbara Ann Wright Crook

Barbara Ann Wright Crook, “Grandma Bob”, was born to Dona Hancock and Harold B Wright on November 17, 1940 in Pocatello, Idaho.  She moved to Bountiful in seventh grade where she caught her sweetheart’s eye.  She walked into an art class at Bountiful Junior High, where Wallace F Crook, Wally, saw her and fell in love at first sight.  It took a few years longer for her to realize he was to be her eternal sweetheart.  They were sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on June 13, 1958.

She passed away on November 12, 2015 with her honey by her side.  They spent 57 years together gardening, square dancing, and working on the farm (much to her dismay).  Grandma Bob donated her time at the hospital and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She excelled in oil and water color painting, crocheting, sewing, and enjoyed teaching her skills to family, friends, and neighbors.

She leaves her sweetheart, Wally, and her children Cindy (L J) Brewer, Monica (Zaric “Zeke”) Swander, Andrea (Rich) Stuart, Spencer (Kristin) Crook.  We are sure mom is having a joyful reunion with her son Steven Crook, parents, and other family and friends that preceded her in death.  She was Grandma Bob to 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Many others, including the “in-laws”, fondly remember her as their other mom, Grandma or Aunt Bob.  She is also survived by her brother Mike (Kathy) Wright.

The family wants to give thanks to the nurses, CNA’s and Physical Therapists at Independence Home Health and Hospice for their loving care the past few years.  A special thank you to her daughter Monica Swander who made it possible for her to live at home with Gramps (Wally) and their dog Charlie for the past year by caring for her and providing unconditional love.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield, Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
