ROY – Barbara Thackeray Headley, 86, passed away peacefully Friday, February 13, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 5, 1929 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Alma and Leah Nelson Thackeray.
She was raised and educated in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School.
On April 19, 1946, Barbara married Arthur LaVern Headley. Their marriage was sealed for time and eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on June 28, 1963.
She worked as a pharmacy technician. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, coin collecting, golf, bowling, and camping with family and friends.
Her life was centered around her family.
Barbara is survived by her children, Kim (LaMar) Walters, Mark (Sharon) Headley, Jann Miller, Cari Daybell, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Jay (Coy) Thackeray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Jill, one sister, Jean New, three brothers, Bill, Alma, Wayne, and a son-in-law, Stan Berg.
Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and the many friends she made at Country Pines; those friendships were very special to her. She also loved the staff at Country Pines, they were so sweet. Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff of Legacy Hospice and especially Stephanie whose love and support with mom was priceless.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18 th at the Roy West Park Ward Chapel, 4524 South 2525 West. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
