Barbara Henrie

Barbara Clapham Henrie, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 22, 2013. She was born in Salt Lake City on June 27, 1930 to George and Gudrun Clapham.

She married Bill Sheriff Henrie on June 12, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They enjoyed 35 short years together before Bill passed away in 1989.

Barbara enjoyed working at Weber State College with her husband Bill.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Relief Society Presidency. She loved the scouting program and served as den leader, cubmaster, and district cubscout chairperson. She earned the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, and Cub Woodbadge Award.

Her children will always remember the vast amount of time she spent helping them memorize talks for church, listening to day-to-day troubles and triumphs, and teaching subtle lessons of love, patience, and industry, which she taught in word and deed.

Barbara enjoyed tap dancing, involvement with the Sons of Norway, and traveling in the US and overseas.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Marshall (Sandy) Henrie, Bill K. (Terresa) Henrie, and Brian (Trina) Henrie; daughters, Jayne Ann (John) Woodward, Susan (Eric) Weeks, Carolyn (Duane) Kuehne, and Jill (Stan) Kirshner; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill S. Henrie.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Bill S. Henrie and Barabara C. Clapham scholarship fund at Weber State University #452375, 1001 University Circle, Ogden, UT 84408.
