Barbara McCloy Jones, 68, our beloved and courageous mother, grandmother and sister, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008 in Clearfield.
She was born January 5, 1940 in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of Wilford Widdison and Emma Rebecca Bowman McCloy.
On August 14, 1956, Barbara married Warren Lee Jones in Hooper. Together they had three children. They were later divorced.
She was reared and educated in Hooper and had lived in Ogden and Roy before moving back to Hooper to reside.
Barbara was a member of the Hooper LDS 3rd Ward.
She spent her life in service to her children and grandchildren. Her first and foremost love and concern was, and will forever be, her family.
Barbara worked at Kresses retail store, was a homemaker, and later worked in Non-Appropriated Funds at Hill Air Force Base.
She loved chocolate, cheese, pizza, chocolate donuts, pasta and more chocolate. She loved the farm life, board games, camping, family activities and cooking. She had a soft heart for any animal, nursed many strays back to health and then gave them a loving home.
Barbara is survived by her children, Penny Lee and James Atkinson, Hooper; Michael Warren Jones, Littleton; Peggy Ann Jones, Layton; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, sister and sister-in-law, Don Wilford (Susan) McCloy, Roy; Judie McCloy, South Ogden; Julie Ann (Frank) Winder, Hooper.
Her parents and one brother, Keith Bowman McCloy, preceded her in death.
Our family would like to thank Hospice Alliance for the loving, tender care given to Barbara and her family these past few months a" especially, Micki, Emily and Dawn, who were truly angels sent from Heaven.
