Barbara E. Kennington passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the age of 53 from complications due to cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. Barbara was born to Elton and Betty Dutton in Mobile, Alabama. She later married the love of her life, Brent M. Kennington on July 5, 1980.

Barbara fought a valiant battle with cancer and never gave up. She was employed by the IRS for 30 years. Barbara was a kind and caring person who always put others in front of herself. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially during her trips to Southern Utah!

Her favorite moments in life were the birth of both of her grandkids, Brynley and Bryton. She loved and adored her grandkids with every ounce of energy she had. Spending time with them and family on weekends made her life complete.

She is survived by her husband Brent Kennington, three children: Terry, Bryce (Amie), and Danielle Kennington; two sisters Debbie (Kirk) Martens and Jyleen Dutton; and two grandchildren, Brynley and Bryton Kennington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit with family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the mortuary.
