Barbara Kay Lowe
December 4, 1944 ~ January 30, 2018
On Tuesday, January 30, 2018, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt Barbara Kay Johnston Richards Lowe left us. She passed at Washington Terrace Center due to an acute infection, she was 73. Barbara was born on December 4, 1944 in Ogden, UT, to Charles L. and Erma D. Johnston. She attended Ogden City Schools.
Barbara married Leonard J. Richards on January 1961 and later divorced. They had three beautiful children, Scott C. Richards, (Judy Roybal), Roy, UT; Tracy T. Richards, Mesa, AZ; and Marnie Lee Richards (Now Deceased).
Barbara worked for many years as a medical Nutritionist for several local nursing facilities. She always made sure the meals for the residents were prepared with love and care. Barbara was also very creative and at one time owned her own floral design shop. She was an extremely talented artist and loved her horses.
Mom possessed all the great virtues and practiced them daily throughout her life, never being judgmental, always having an open mind, quick to forgive and slow to anger. She had a free spirit that will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and the true spirit of giving.
Barbara is survived by her son, Scott C. (Judy); daughter, Tracy T., Mesa, AZ; and brother, Richard D. Johnston (Staci); sister, Carole Bell; three grandchildren, Jermaine Kelly (Josie), Chandy Kelly, and Scott Richards, Jr. who will always love and miss her. She was preceded in death by both parents, daughter, Marnie; brother, Dr. Lynn Johnston; and both husbands.
The family would like to thank Brandy Olsen with MACS Plan, the staff at Washington Terrace Center and Rhoda with Envision Hospice.
