Barbara G. Paulsen, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, surrounded by her family and many friends.
She was born July 26, 1926 in Ogden, Utah to Edward J. and Olga Busch Gibbons. She was raised in the Logan area before moving to Salt Lake City and graduating from West High School.
On August 4, 1947, Barbara married Claron O. Paulsen in the Logan LDS Temple.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings including, Sunday School teacher, Young Women''s and Primary. She was instrumental in starting Ward libraries in the Lakeview Stake.
Barbara worked at the Naval Supply Depot as a stenographer and as Secretary of the Hooper Cemetery District for more than 20 years. She loved the people she worked with at the cemetery.
She and her eternal sweetheart of over 60 years were blessed with a beautiful family. Mom''s gift for hospitality was renowned. All who entered her home were welcomed, loved and well fed. Her love and passion of the holidays and family gatherings will forever be cherished by her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the piano, canning, cooking, sewing and quilting. She found joy in every holiday and hosted a Pumpkin Alley on Halloween for many years. She was an avid Jazz fan, "GO JAZZ".
Barbara is survived by her husband, Claron; they had seven children, Cathy (Brent) Stringham, Richfield; Paul (deceased) (LeeAnn) Paulsen, Hooper; John Paulsen, Hooper; Carol (Dave) Fowler, Coco, FL; Teri Kirschner, Kaysville; Wendy (Randy) Wright, Fruit Heights; Chris (Jen) Paulsen, Hooper; 39 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, three grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
