Barbara Bourne Phillips
1920 - 2011
FRUIT HEIGHTS a" Barbara Bourne Phillips passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011 of age related causes at her home in Fruit Heights. She was born March 16, 1920 in Farmington, Utah to George Leland and Josie Earl Bourne. She was raised in the small farming town of Riverside, Utah. Later she attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Ray William Phillips in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 20, 1943. Within two weeks he left for military service in the Pacific. For the next two years she stayed with her grandmother in Farmington, Utah, until Ray returned from the War. Soon after they built a home in Fruit Heights and started a family. She retired from the Davis County Court House after 30 years of service. She served in various positions for the LDS Church. She loved her family, her hobbies and crafts, painting, sewing, cooking, and travel, to name a few. She always enjoyed a good visit with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Craig (Laraine), and Nolan (Jennie) Phillips, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sister Diane Kraaima (Dell), brother Duane Bourne (Kathryn). She was preceded in death by her husband Ray on January 20, 2011 and a great-granddaughter Saibrynn Hamblin.
We would like to thank the special people at Dignity Home Health and Comfort Keepers, who gave such kind and loving service to our Mom.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Fruit Heights Stake Center, 170 North Mountain Road. Friends may visit family from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, June 14 at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, and on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
