Barbara Jean Pihl (Marsee, Posell, Nebel)

Barbara Jean Pihl passed away on September 19, 2013. She was born in Holladay, UT, July 28, 1927, to Elizabeth Amanda Petersen and Walter Conrad Pihl. In Salt Lake City on February 6, 1946, she married William T. Marsee of Kentucky. After marriage, Bill continued military service in the U.S. Air Force. Together, Barbara and Bill raised a family of five children while serving in Japan, Tripoli North Africa, and several stateside bases.

Barbara and Bill completed a career in the Air Force in 1966. They relocated to Layton, UT in 1967. Sadly, Bill passed away shortly after moving into their new Layton home.

In 1971, she married Jack Posell who passed away in 1997. In 2003, she married Jesse Nebel and lived in Kaysville. Jesse passed away in October 2008. Barbara remained in Kaysville.

Barbara is survived by her children, Katherine Piper (Dan), Nancy Marsee, William T. Marsee, Jr., Betsy Candia (John-deceased), Robert Marsee (Ashley), and brother Don Pihl. In addition, she has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A life-long member of the LDS Church, Barbara accepted and diligently served in many callings. In 1995, she and her husband, Jack Posell, served a mission in Chicago, IL.

We thank CNS Hospice for their professional and caring services. In particular, we express our sincere gratitude to Jocelyn Christensen, of CNS, for her outstanding service to Barbara and family.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
