Barbara Blanchard Poole

Barbara Blanchard Poole, age 85, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Albany, Oregon.

She was born on December 26, 1932 in Logan, Utah, to Fred L. Blanchard and Clara Marie Berntsen, the second of three children. She graduated from Logan High School in 1951. She attended classes at Utah State and Weber State.

Barbara married Reed C. Poole on July 30, 1964 and together they raised four children until his death on August 29, 1984.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions over the years. She loved being a member of her Ward and serving others. She graduated from LDS Institute and enjoyed taking Church History Tours.

Barbara retired from 22 years of Federal service in January 1992.

She was a Master Gardener and enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and working in her beautiful garden. She played cards weekly with her friends and went to Book Club.

She was active in the P.T.A., a member of the Sons of Norway, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and Boy Scouts of America.

Surviving Barbara are her children, Laurie (Bill) Roskelley, Wendy (Trace) Cunningham, Kelly Roundy, Mark (Suzanne) Poole; eight grandchildren, Jodie Hanselman, Christopher Roundy, Mathew Roundy, Jamie Moline, Shalynn Cunningham, Chandler Poole, Elizabeth Poole and Jacqueline Poole; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mardean (Harry) Willmore of Logan; sister-in-law, Beth Blanchard of Logan and brother-in-law, Steve (Cory) Poole of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reed; her parents; and her brother, Bob.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the South Ogden 6th Ward Chapel, 4380 Orchard Ave.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Logan City Cemetery at 3 p.m.
