Barbara Louise Coulson Redden
11/29/1924 ~ 3/6/2014
Barbara Louise Coulson Redden, 89, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Ogden Regional Hospital. She was born on November 29, 1924 in Sylvis, Illinois to Camilla and Forrest Coulson. She married Larry Redden in 1948 and they have lived in Ogden for most of their 65 years of marriage.
Barbara had many talents and interests. She worked for the IRS for many years, and had been a member of the Footprinters and Ogden Cosmopolitan clubs. She loved spending time with family, sewing, going to movies, and playing cards and Mahjongg 'with the girls'. You couldn't find a flaw on either side of her cross-stitch or knitting; she always had a sparkle in her eyes to accompany her stylish appearance, and had a great laugh and great sense of humor.
Barbara was loved by all who knew her. She was warm, loving and considerate. She was giving to those she knew, and those she knew who were in need and only spoke kindly of others. She was a fabulous cook - no one went hungry in her home, a good listener, and fun to be around.
One of the greatest legacies she left is her example of having a loving marriage. She and Larry supported each other in their individual hobbies but shared many interests together such as golf, traveling, camping, fishing and gardening.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Larry Redden; her children, Carol (Allen) Otterstrom, Jim (Masae) Redden, and Laurie (Jeff) Nicholas; seven grandchildren and eight and a half great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Don, grandson Scott Redden and granddaughter-in-law Mel Otterstrom.
A family memorial service was held on Saturday, March 8th.
