Barbara Jean Colvin Ryan

August 30, 1925 ~ December 26, 2016

Barbara Jean Colvin Ryan, 91, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016.  She was born on August 30, 1925 in Ogden, Utah, the last surviving of 11 children born to William F. and Sarah E. Sprague Colvin.  Barbara lived most of her life in Ogden with a short time in Moab and 13 years in the Las Vegas area.  In 2001 Barbara moved to Roy where she lived until her passing.

She married Bill K. Ryan on June 6, 1944 in Ogden, Utah.  Bill passed away on November 18, 2000.

Barbara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards, and enjoyed all the activities she shared with her family.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Bill K. (Lyn) Ryan, Crystal River, FL; Jack W (Karen) Ryan, Tooele, UT; Michael C. (Marie) Ryan, Crystal River, FL; and Tim L. Ryan, Ogden, UT; daughters, Rae (Jerry) Crozier, Hurricane, UT; Peggy D. Wood, Ogden, UT; and Kim (Doug) Benson, Hurricane, UT; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a special companion, Paul Thurgood and family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill and daughter, Leslie Marie.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.  Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
