Barbara Lou Hadley Trimble

August 18, 1933 ~ August 6, 2015

Barbara Lou Hadley Trimble, 81, died Wednesday, August 6, 2015 at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living after enduring Alzheimer’s disease for many years.

She was born August 18, 1933 in South Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Wilbur and Lygia Hunsaker Hadley. She lived her entire life in South Ogden where she met her lifelong friend, Kay Matteucci. She graduated from Weber High School in 1951.

On May 4, 1956, Barbara married Evin R. Trimble in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 12, 1974. Evin preceded her in death May 14, 2010.

Her life’s work was raising six children, being a fun and loving Grandma, providing a pleasant and loving home, and making memories for her family. Her home was a place where everyone was welcome and wanted to be.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended the Burch Creek Fifth Ward where she served as a Primary Teacher for over 30 years. She also served in the Relief Society and was a faithful and dedicated Visiting Teacher.

Barbara’s greatest happiness came from spending time with her family. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She loved the outdoors; trees, lakes, rivers, and mountains. She never failed to point out a beautiful sunset. Barbara enjoyed camping, motor home trips, playing games, eating out, anything chocolate, and Yellowstone National Park. She worked hard to provide many fun family get-togethers where her family was blessed to make many fond memories. She was an excellent cook. Her family will miss her potato salad, shrimp salad, and baked beans.

Barbara’s life was spent in service to others. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Weber Memorial Hospital for many years. She never enjoyed the spotlight, but she was always first in line to serve someone else.

Barbara is survived by two sons and four daughters, Tryce (Sharen) Trimble, Treann (Clayton) Wight, Tarbie Trimble, Tyne (Cindy) Trimble, Talena (Nick) Gaskill and Tambi (Doug) Brown. She is also survived by one brother, Jay Weldon Hadley, 11 grandchildren, who adored their grandma, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her infant son Tvin Trimble, her parents, her brother Bill Hadley and her sister, Donna Matteucci. Special thanks to Legacy Hospice and Mountain Ridge Assisted Living for the loving care they provided. Her family was blessed to have many wonderful people taking care of their mom and grandma. Thank you Stef, Maddie, Michael, and so many others!

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
