Barbara attended Ogden High School where she excelled in sports and was named "Most Physically Fit OHS Female". She was exceptionally patriotic and worked at the Ogden Arsenal during World War II where she met and later married Harold A. Wolcott. Together they raised three children, Butch (Irene), Linda (Christopher), and Sue.
Barbara will be remembered by her children as a devoted and caring mother. She was an active, fun-loving person. Some of her favorite days were spent with her family at the Pineview Yacht Club where she became an accomplished slalom water skier. It was there that she made many of her most cherished life-long friends.
She was employed by ZCMI for 25 years where she built solid relationships with both customers and fellow workers. Another group of special pals was "The Club Girls" who gathered regularly for girl time and shared many memorable road trips.
Barbara is survived by her children, grandsons, Jeffrey and Michael (Emily), four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Marge Monson and Merle Burt, one bother, Bus Widmeyer, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Errol and Eulalia Widmeyer, husband, Harold, a sister, Betty Evans and a brother, Ted Widmeyer.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff of Ogden Legacy House where Barbara lived for more than three years and also to the special care givers at Pineview Rehab and Crestwood Care Center.
Barbara genuinely loved animals, especially dogs. In her memory, please make a donation to the Humane Society of Utah or rescue a pet that is in need of a safe, loving home.
