Barbro M. Norberg
WASHINGTON TERRACE – Barbro Maria Norberg passed from this earth on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from an extended illness.
She was born March 21, 1930 in Gavle, Sweden, to Karl Gustaf and Ejvor Norberg. She was one of seven children – sisters, Britta and Karin, and brothers, Lars and Sven, living in Sweden and deceased brothers, Karl Gosta and Bo Per Olaf.
Barbro became friends with Grace A. Rost who was a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She desired membership in the Church and was baptized in a swimming pool in Stockholm Sweden. She came to the United States at the close of Grace’s mission in the 1950’s and lived with Grace’s family in Wendell, Idaho. She obtained work as a dental assistant in Dr. Robinson’s office in Gooding, Idaho until she moved to Ogden where she obtained work at McKay-Dee Hospital, then later at St. Benedict’s which then became Ogden Regional Medical Center where she worked until she retired.
Barbro enjoyed her work and made many good and lasting friends retaining close association even after retirement. She was able to travel to Sweden to visit with her family a number of times during the years, but America had become her home. Barbro “Bobbie” became a part of the Rost Family and will be greatly missed by Frank and Gwen Rost, their children, Roy and Frances Rost, their children, and Verda Rost and many other relatives and close friends. She will surely be missed by her family living in Sweden. She leaves a vacant spot in all our hearts.
We express great appreciation and thanks to all those who gave extraordinary care and kindness to Barbro at Ogden Regional Medical Center and Pine View Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Wayne Funk officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment and graveside services will be held Monday at 12:00 Noon at the Wendell, Idaho Cemetery next to Rost family members.
