Barnard Hartley Greenwood, Jr.

Barnard H. Greenwood, Jr, 77, our wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, passed away from an extended illness on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at home in Ogden, Utah. He was born on February 4, 1941 in Ogden, Utah to B.H. and Bernice Kofoed Greenwood.
He married his sweetheart Nancy K. Little on April 29, 1960 in Ogden and they celebrated 58 years together raising five amazing children. He spent several childhood years in Star Valley, Wyoming; where he worked on a farm and graduated Valedictorian of his jr. high.
He loved history and enjoyed reading about it, and could easily recall historical facts.
He attended Ben Lomond High in Ogden. As a teen he took over his father’s painting business when his father suffered a heart attack. By profession, he was a painting contractor. He owned/operated B. H. Greenwood Painting Co. He worked throughout the intermountain west as well as 30 years in Elko, Nevada.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his younger years he loved to race cars and was known for his fast car. He loved to camp, hunt, fish, and travel. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and found great joy in their accomplishments. He loved playing rummy with his grandchildren.
Barnard is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, B H (Annette) Boise, Idaho; Cristy (Robert) Jones of Chugiak, Alaska; John (Lynn) Las Vegas, Nevada; Trey (Henriette) Hillerod, Denmark; Tracy (Mihoko) Tokyo, Japan; siblings, Karen Howard and Brent (Sandi); 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Zellrae Rhoads and Sandra Youngman.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Diehl, Dr. Carl Gray, and Dr. Seth Lewis for their outstanding care.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
