Bautista Cesar Mangini 1919-2012
Bautista CAC.sar Mangini passed away suddenly on April 23, 2012, at his home in Centerville, Utah. He was born on November 10, 1919 in JunAn, Buenos Aires, Argentina, the son of Juan Mangini and MarAa Teresa Pacho. He was the loving husband of Teresa Mangini, his companion of 63 years. He was an extraordinarily resourceful man. He learned how to put his skills to good use throughout his life, always trying to do his best to meet the needs of his family. He made the United States his home at age 50, and succeeded in achieving the American Dream through preparation and hard work. One of his first priorities was to learn English by going to school for 3 years after work. Through rigorous discipline and careful budgeting, he also provided for the college education of his two daughters, who are proud to call him their Dad. At age 14, in Argentina, he invented and built machinery to automate milking cows in a dairy operation. One of his passions was plane gliding. He was one of the founders of the Gliding Club of JunAn, his home town. Against great odds, he and other members of the club worked to qualify for hosting the 1963 World Gliding Championship, and saw their efforts bear fruit when JunAn was chosen to hold the event, the only time it was held in South America. After he retired, he and Teresa traveled throughout the world on many occasions, enjoying the richness of different cultures and traditions. In the last few years he also enjoyed working with a combination of different woods and metals and created very pleasing designs. His mind was sharp until it was time to go Home to Heavenly Father. Most of all, he loved to be with people. He was happiest joining his daughter Liliana''s extended family for monthly dinners. He was always in touch with members of his extended family here and in Argentina. Bautista was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a branch president in Argentina before moving to the United States, and, most recently, served with his wife as a worker in the Bountiful, Utah Temple. They have always been active in their ward and are so appreciative of the love and friendship extended to them over the years by so many in their ward. He leaves behind his wife Teresa, who grieves his passing; his daughters, Alicia (Richard) Bodily and Liliana (Bruce) Frandsen; grandchildren Richard, William and John (Cindy) Bodily; David (Emily) Frandsen, Jennifer (Brady) Andersen, Wendy DeBoer, Brenda (Chris) Schenck, Daniel (Kelsie), and Somer Frandsen; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Oscar Mangini, and one sister, Olga NoemA Mangini de Gutierrez; cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and four sisters. The family wishes to thank the many neighbors who were quick to comfort Teresa upon his sudden passing; and those who through the years came by to spend some time with them in friendly conversation. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Centerville Canyon View Ward Chapel, 210 E. 1825 N. Friends may visit with the family Fri. April 27th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. and Sat. from 9:45-10:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment Centerville City Cemetery.
