Beatrice Camarillo Cantu
March 25, 1925 ~ August 10, 2022
SOUTH OGDEN- Beatrice Camarillo Cantu returned home to her Heavenly Father, while surrounded by loved ones on August 10, 2022. She was 97 years young!
Bea was born March 25, 1925, in Santa Ana, California. She was the seventh of eight children, lovingly raised by her mother Barbara Camarillo. Her family was very close and supportive of each other while growing up during the Great Depression in the Delhi neighborhood of Orange County.
Bea attended trade school and became a talented cosmetologist and won many awards in Hair Competitions. She always looked lovely and would never leave the house without her hair done or her “face” on. Her passion for hairstyles also blessed her sisters and nieces greatly.
She later moved to Los Angeles with her mother and sisters, where she met Henry, the love of her life. They were married on May 30, 1963, and shared 45 wonderful years together in San Gabriel, California. Bea and Hank traveled throughout the world, evident by the many souvenir magnets on their fridge.
Bea loved cooking for and entertaining family and friends. She was always kind to others and looked for the good in people. She had a positive attitude and found joy in serving her community. She never passed up an opportunity to share God’s love with others. She woke up every day saying, “Thank You Jesus, for another day!”
Bea began working for the Los Angeles School District when she became a mother. She was a dedicated and loving mother to her daughter Lynda Mia and an incredible grandmother to her 10 grandchildren. She was lovingly referred to as “Nana” by many. She spent countless hours playing games, attending performances, and supporting her grandchildren.
She was a devout member of the Catholic Church her entire life. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at the St. Anthony Parish while living in San Gabriel, California. Later in life she faithfully attended St. Joseph’s Parish in Ogden, Utah.
Bea is survived by her daughter, Lynda Mia (Jeff); grandchildren, Nicole, Raquel, Grant, Hannah (Jason), Pierce, Joseph, Hope and Emily. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; grandsons, Jonathan and Hyrum; and siblings, Frank, Charlie, Henrietta, Rachel, Cecile, Joyce, and Benjamin.
A special thanks for the compassion and kindness of those angels who helped care for Bea from Day Break Senior Services, Legacy House of Ogden, and Inspiration Home Health and Hospice.
