Grandma "B"

Beatrice Washburn Gardner our loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to many was called home to her Heavenly Father on March 11, 2010 due to natural causes. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Bea was born March 21, 1923 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to Earl Lee and Eva Marie Kabelmann Washburn. Bea''s mother died when Bea was 13 years old. She was raised by her father and step-mother Fern Hepworth Washburn. They moved to Afton, Wyoming where Bea attended high school. It was here she met and later married Darrel B. Gardner on July 30, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized June 11, 1942 in the LDS SLC, UT Temple. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1997. In 1951 Darrel and Bea moved to Clearfield, Utah. They built a home on 300 No. where she lived 54 years. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions. She loved sewing, handiwork, ceramics and made many beautiful quilts up until the last few months of her life.

Her greatest love and joy was her husband and family. She loved to have her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit. Grandma "B" developed a special closeness with love and support to each one. She especially loved family get togethers. Their home was always open to everyone. Her love and unselfish concern for others will always be remembered as well as her smile and the twinkle in her eye.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Eddie, granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Gardner, grandson, Bryant Patrick Poll, three sisters, one brother and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two brothers, Dallas and Jack, children: Linda (Nolan) Schofield, Syracuse; Mike (Linda) Gardner, Kaysville, Patricia (Brian) Poll, So. Weber; Mark Gardner, San Jose, CA; Darrelyn (Michael) Bybee, Roy; 23 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Cumorah Miles, Ogden; Genevieve (Les) Bullard, Clinton; and Joanne Gardner, So. Ogden. Beatrice had 107 nieces and nephews and was adored by each one.
