Beatrice Oliver Witherspoon

Beatrice Oliver Witherspoon passed away at the Lodge by Valeo in hospice care on March 9, 2017.  She was 86 years old.  She was predeceased by her mother, Jessie Faye (Kinder) Oliver, her father, Norman Backman Oliver, her older brother Jack Oliver, and her twin sister Mary Balaam.  She is survived by her beloved son, John Garland Witherspoon Jr (Susan), her beloved older sister, Jane Reed, and many nieces and nephews.

Beatrice, who was also known as Bee to her many friends, ran a health food store for many years in three different locations that were all close to her in West Valley, Utah, known as Beatrice’s Valley Selected Foods and also Beatrice’s Herbs for Health.  She has many dear friends that include many long term customers.

For her many dear friends, a viewing is scheduled at City View Memoriam, 1001 East 11th Avenue, Salt Lake City 84103 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 18, 2017, with a short service following at the same location.  Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N St. E, Salt Lake City, Utah at 12:00 PM that is across the street from the City View Memoriam and that overlooks the valley where she spent most of her adult life.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
