Belva Fowers Turcic

Belva Fowers Turcic, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2013.

She was born October 26, 1959 in Hooper, Utah to Wilma Neville and Arthur Antone Fowers. She was raised and educated in Hooper and graduated from Roy High School in 1977. She continued her education at Weber State College where she graduated with a Bachelor Degree in American History.

Belva was employed at Hill Air Force Base as a Procurement Contractor for 28 years before retiring.

She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when she was 28 years old. Shortly after, she married Robert Paul Turcic and together they had one son, Glenn Patrick Turcic. During her battle with Multiple Sclerosis she was able to continue her hobbies that brought joy to her. She enjoyed attending her Tai Kwon Do class where she earned a Yellow Belt, which was quite an accomplishment for her considering her age and disease when she earned it. She also enjoyed photography, music and gardening.

Belva was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors.

She has always been determined to not let her disease get the best of her. Whenever Belva was asked how she was doing, her determined response, "One step at a time" will be what others remember her by.

Belva is survived by her husband, Paul, their son, Glenn, one brother, Garth (Penny) Fowers, one sister, Rosemary (Bob) England, two nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14th at 11 a.m. at the Hooper 3rd Ward Chapel, 5601 South 6100 West.

The family will meet with friends Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Hooper Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary.
